Accessibility

How this site is built for assistive technology, and how to report a problem.

Last updated

What we target

We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the bar we hold this site to and the bar we build client projects to unless a contract sets a higher one.

What is in place

Specific things this site does, rather than a general statement of intent:

  • Every animation is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion, and content is never left hidden when it is.
  • A skip link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
  • Every control has a visible focus ring, and interactive elements are reachable by keyboard.
  • Decorative images and canvases are hidden from screen readers; meaningful ones carry a description.
  • Colour is never the only way status or meaning is conveyed.
  • Form errors are linked to their fields and announced, not just coloured red.

Known gaps

The in-page anchors in the header do not indicate which section you are currently viewing. Doing that properly needs scroll position tracking, which we have not added yet.

The interactive 3D visuals are decorative and have text alternatives, but they cannot be explored by keyboard.

Reporting a problem

If something here does not work with your assistive technology, email hello@softmivix.com and tell us what you were trying to do. We treat access defects as bugs, not feature requests.
